Grants to Institutions of Higher Education, research institutions, and nonprofits enhance children’s nutritional health and promote agricultural education. Projects help expand existing farm-to-school initiatives and other food and experiential agricultural learning initiatives.

3. Projects and Activities to Benefit Local Residents!

In addition, grants to eligible nonprofits to benefit local residents. Funding is for projects and activities focusing on nutrition and food, veterans, disabled individuals, and young people.

4. Children’s Health and Wellness and Food Security!

Grants up to $500 and in-kind donations to eligible nonprofits, schools, tribes, and faith-based organizations to benefit children. Areas of focus include food security, health and wellness, and DEI programming. Support includes both monetary donations and gift cards.

5. Grants for Projects to Benefit Local Communities!

Grants to organizations for projects to benefit local communities. Funding will address issues including nutrient stewardship, sustainable communities, hunger, agricultural education and development, habitat conservation, and watershed restoration.

Also, grants to nonprofits to provide programs benefiting individuals in need. Priority consideration is for specific programs and direct, tangible assistance, excluding equipment or general operating support.

Focus areas include nutrition education, food access, cooking skills, healthy and active lifestyles, and urban agricultural programs with a community focus and the goal of developing participation in the farm-to-fork economy.

Also, grants to eligible nonprofits, government agencies, schools, and libraries for food security programs. The program’s purpose supports food and nutrition programs to address malnutrition by ensuring access to and the use of nutritious foods.
